On Dec. 21, 1976, Mark Loftin purchased Nelson Electric, the KOHLER® Power Systems distributor for Arizona. With continued growth throughout the ’70s and early ’80s, Loftin Equipment Co. expanded its territory to serve Southern Nevada for KOHLER Power Systems in 1985.
In 1990, Loftin Equipment Co. was awarded the KOHLER engine line for Arizona and Southern Nevada. Throughout the ’90s, Loftin’s engine sales and service business continued to grow, and in 1998, the company was awarded the Kubota® line of diesel engines.
In 2003, KOHLER Power Systems AOR was once again expanded and Loftin was awarded New Mexico. The following year, LEC was awarded South Texas for KOHLER Power Systems.
In 2007, Loftin acquired Bay City Electric Works from Tom Claycomb and secured the KOHLER Power Systems territory for Southern California.
In 2010, the company was awarded the entire state of Texas for Kohler Power and established its north Texas location in Irving. LEC partnered with Scania engines for sales, parts, service, and support throughout AZ, NM, TX, and OK.
In 2013, LEC was awarded additional Kubota territory in south Texas and a great preparation for Tier 4 emissions and regulations.
In 2014, LEC was awarded additional Scania territory in Nevada and Utah.
In 2016, LEC was awarded Kohler Distributor of the Year for Residential/Light Commercial.
In 2017, LEC was awarded Kohler Distributor of the Year for After Market Parts & Service. The same year, LEC was recognized as the first Scania Distributor in North America to be Dealer Operating Standard Certified.
In 2019, LEC opened a new facility in Midland, TX serving the West Texas market offering new unit Kohler and Scania sales, service, parts, and rental generators.
Our commitment and belief in relationships and support have allowed us to serve diverse markets and expand our customer base. We’ve grown from a single location serving the state of Arizona to 10 locations now serving a territory from California to Texas based on a belief in partnerships and trusting that we will do the right thing.
